The TiAlN coating on these helical-flute thread mills withstands high temperatures and protects the thread mills from wear when milling hard materials. The TiAlN coating allows the thread mills to be used at faster speeds than thread mills with a bright finish. Helical-flute thread mills have spiral flutes that distribute the chip load as the thread mill removes material to cut threads into an existing hole or onto the external surface of a part.
