They are commonly used for preparing circuit boards, lead trimming, cleaning edge connectors, and removing dust, dirt, and solder from electronic components. The brushes' nylon bristles provide good resistance to wear and abrasion and are effective when used in wet or intermittently hot environments. Also known as metal-backed strip brushes, strip brushes with rigid backing each contain densely compressed bristles that are secured in a U-shaped metal channel with a retaining wire.
