3M™ Cubitron™ II Fibre Disc is developed with precision-shaped grain and a stiff fiber backing for use in medium to heavy-duty operations. It helps to provide durability and a high cut-rate, while also offering long life and reduced grinding pressure. Though suitable for use on almost all metals, the disc is recommended for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive applications such as nickel alloy and titanium. A grinding aid helps to keep the disc cool during use, which in turn, helps to reduce metal discoloration/oxidation and the chance of heat-related stress cracks. The triangular structures in the precision-shaped grain also form sharp peaks to slice cleanly through metal rather than gouging or plowing as traditional abrasives do. Use it in beveling, or removing mill scale, welds, pits, and imperfections.
