The 3M™ Flexible Diamond Whetstone Abrasive uses micron-graded diamond mineral to abrade the surface of the cutting tool and restore its acute cutting capabilities. Diamond mineral is one of the toughest, most durable natural minerals. Its sharp cutting abilities help it cleanly slice through dulled surfaces to reveal the sharp edge underneath. The mineral is fastened to an aluminum block with a metal bond to help it stay strong during grinding. Its open dot pattern allows fine particles, fragments, and filings to escape, so debris will not clog the mineral. This helps sustain a sharp cut and prolong abrasive service life. The lightweight, handheld holding block design helps reduce operator fatigue and makes it easy to access contours and edges. The 125-micron grade tends to finish more aggressive. For finer finishes, grades 40 and 74 are also available (sold separately). Suitable applications include precision stone faceting and sharpening of chisels, blades, knives and carbide tools.
