These safety harnesses for climbing and confined spaces have one D-ring on the upper back, one D-ring on the chest, and two D-rings on the shoulder straps. The chest D-ring allows the harness to be used with a ladder-climbing system to provide fall protection if the wearer slips while climbing or descending a ladder or tall structure. The shoulder D-rings connect to a lanyard spreader that distributes force evenly across the body as the wearer is raised out of or lowered into a confined space. They also provide extra connection points for rescue or extraction. The back D-ring connects to a self-retracting lifeline or shock-absorbing lanyard that attaches to a secure anchor point.
