- Building on the success of ComStar's COPPER LOCK, a no heat solder for copper/brass pipe & fittings, HVAC METAL LOCK Black can be used on any metal including aluminum, black iron, steel, copper, brass and more. It's easy to apply, just sand the unthreaded areas to be joined, apply a small amount of METAL LOCK Black to the fitting and pipe, insert and turn the pipe 180 degrees or more. Then wait for 30 seconds before handling. Pressure tests can be conducted after two minutes. For threaded fittings just apply METAL LOCK Black as you would a normal thread sealant.METAL LOCK Black will set up a permanent leak proof bond in seconds. It seals against most fluids, refrigerants, gases and chemicals and will withstand extreme vibration. METAL LOCK Black has a temperature range of
- 65 degree F to +350 degree F and can withstand shear pressure up to 2,200 psi (ISO 10123). It is non-toxic and meets several US military specifications.
