Summary

All GoVets Products have the following elements below the Product Name: 

1. SKU#
2. Part #
3. UPC
4. Brand

As an example, we will use the following product:  Realspace Magellan Performance 71inW Hutch Cherry.

SKU#

The Stock-Keeping Unit Number (SKU#) is the unique GoVets identifier.  A unit value is assigned to each GoVets product.  The GoVets SKU typically begins with a 3-digit brand identification number followed by a unique number assigned by GoVets for the given brand.  For our example product, the Realspace Magellan Performance 71inW Hutch Cherry has a SKU# of 312-956679, a product identifier that is known, generated and managed exclusively by GoVets.  

Part #

The Part # is also known as Manufacturing Part Number (MPN).  The Part # is a unique number that is issued by manufacturers to identify individual products. Normally, the MPN  of a product is a series of numbers and letters. You can see examples of MPNs on the barcodes of products as manufacturers print MPNs and the barcode.  For our example product, the Realspace Magellan Performance 71inW Hutch Cherry has a Part # ST100305C, a value that is known, generated and managed exclusively by the Supplier.  

UPC

The Universal Product Code (UPC) # is the unique GoVets identifier.  A UPC code is a 12 digit code that's unique to a specific product. It's displayed in two different ways: a barcode and printed numbers. The barcode is designed for computer scanners to easily read. It consists of alternating white and black bars of various widths.  The GoVets product page provides the UPC number, and our products typically contain the barcode.  For our example product, the Realspace Magellan Performance 71inW Hutch Cherry has a 12-digit UPC# 735854751296

Brand

The Brand represents the company that built the product(s) listed on GoVets. For our example product, the Brand for the  Realspace Magellan Performance 71inW Hutch Cherry is Realspace.
