They're used as part of a multizone mini-split system along with two or more indoor air handlers, which distribute the cooled or heated air. These condensers have a weather-resistant cabinet that houses and protects their compressor, condenser coils, and other interior components. They can be roof-mounted or placed on the ground outside a wall.
