These friction-ring stem casters have sealed precision ball bearings in their swivel raceways and wheels that do not need to be routinely greased. This reduces time spent on maintenance and helps extend the life of the casters. These casters roll more quietly than other types of friction-ring stem casters. The casters' nylon frames resist chemicals and corrosion and weigh less than metal frames. They are used on carts or other equipment in settings where the equipment will be moved frequently and may be exposed to water or chemicals, such as medical facilities, hospitality and retail establishments, laboratories, and food-service areas. The casters have nonmarking wheels that prevent damage to floors, and they have thread guards that keep dirt and debris from getting into the casters and damaging them.

Friction-ring stem casters each have a stem that presses into an appropriately sized hole or socket in tubes, pipes, wood, or compatible brackets on furniture or equipment. A spring ring at the end of the stem expands to hold the caster in place once it's installed in the hole or socket. Also known as grip-ring stem casters, these casters are used on furniture or equipment such as office chairs, tables, and medical equipment to allow them to roll as they're being moved or repositioned. Friction-ring stem casters require few or no tools for installation, making them well suited for applications where casters need to be replaced frequently. These swivel casters can rotate 360°, allowing equipment to change directions while rolling.
