Piston seal kits (sometimes called piston seal assemblies or bore kits) include the seals required to repair hydraulic-cylinder piston seals.

Piston seals help ensure that pressurized hydraulic fluid does not move past the piston as it moves up and down the cylinder during a pressure cycle. Hydraulic cylinder piston seals are installed in a groove around the piston. Maintaining a tight seal ensures that the cylinder maintains pressure. Weakened or leaking seals cause pressure in the seal to drop, reducing or eliminating the ability of the cylinder to support a load.
