Maintenance-Free Plate Caster Rigid
Medium-duty maintenance-free plate casters have thicker zinc-plated steel frames than light-duty maintenance-free plate casters, which allows them to bear heavier loads and tolerate more impact. These medium-duty casters are suitable for use on equipment that will be transporting relatively light loads over flat, smooth surfaces, such as hotel equipment, hospitality or food carts, mobile racks and cases, stock carts, and laundry carts.
Maintenance-free plate casters have sealed precision ball bearings in their swivel raceways and wheels. The bearings do not need to be routinely greased, which reduces time spent on maintenance and helps extend the life of the casters. These casters roll quietly and require less force to start and keep them rolling than other types of plate casters, which helps reduce operator strain. They have a mounting plate that attaches to the bottom of equipment, and they allow the equipment to roll, which reduces the effort it takes to move or reposition the equipment. Maintenance-free plate casters come in swivel and rigid versions. The swivel casters can rotate 360°, allowing equipment to change directions while rolling. The rigid casters roll in a straight line. Two rigid plate casters will often be paired with two swivel casters to allow the equipment to both maneuver around curves and obstacles and maintain a straight course while rolling.
