The Polaris A Stick Welding Electrode is a carbon steel electrode with low hydrogen levels perfect for joining mild steels of any kind including cast iron or heavy rust deposits in pipes. Its E7018 composition provides excellent arc characteristics, strong weld deposit, and fluidity even on rusty, painted or dirty materials without cracking or hot-crack sensitivity problems. The 3/16in dia. diameter makes it suitable for general all-position welding jobs ranging from light gauge to heavier industrial applications such as farm equipment, truck frames or general structural welds. Its 14in long length provides good bead appearance and deposition rate while reducing the need for reapplying excessive filler metal between passes.
