High-temperature, chemical-resistant strip brushes with rigid backing have PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) bristles that are inert to most chemicals and can withstand continuous exposure to temperatures up to around 500°F. They are commonly mounted along conveyors to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts in conveying applications where the bristles may be exposed to high temperatures and chemicals. Sometimes called metal-backed strip brushes, strip brushes with rigid backing each have densely compressed bristles that are securely held in a U-shaped metal channel with a retaining wire. They each install into a compatible holder to help maximize contact between the brush and conveyor when the brush is mounted.Strip brushes are mounted along conveyors to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts.
