Brass also will not generate sparks when struck against other metals, making these brushes well suited for use in confined spaces and environments that may contain flammable liquids, vapors, dust, or residues. Mount these strip brushes along conveyors to direct and separate items on the conveyor and clean debris from conveyed items and conveyor belts and parts. Also called metal-backed strip brushes, strip brushes with rigid backing each have densely compressed bristles that are secured in a U-shaped metal channel with a retaining wire.
